‘Sheffield Wednesday plunged into fresh chaos after latest Dejphon Chansiri blunder’
Sheffield Wednesday are in an increasingly precarious position after owner Dejphon Chansiri failed to pay the Championship club’s wage bill in May.
Wednesday fans were left furious after the news broke that Chansiri hadn’t paid the Owls’ players or non-playing staff last month.
Meanwhile, manager Danny Rohl still appears likely to leave the South Yorkshire side, even though Russell Martin is set to join Rangers, while the German had been linked with the Ibrox vacancy.
Despite his current financial mismanagement, Chansiri rejected an offer to sell Sheffield Wednesday.

Chansiri charged as Sheffield Wednesday staff seek emergency fund
Despite Chansiri’s failing ownership, Rohl steered the Owls to a 12th-place finish in the Championship, while the South Yorkshire club’s away form was particularly impressive.
Meanwhile, as reported by the Sheffield Star [4 June], players and staff at the club are yet to receive their May wages, while Wednesday have been charged with multiple breaches of the EFL’s regulations.
Chansiri has also been hit with individual charges.
The report adds that non-footballing staff at Sheffield Wednesday have been encouraged to make use of an emergency fund to counteract any immediate financial hardship.

Sheffield Wednesday are already facing player exits amid financial hardship
Many people associated with the South Yorkshire club will now want to see an end to Chansiri’s reign at Hillsborough, while the Championship side are now facing severe financial hardship.
Meanwhile, star man Josh Windass recently played down links to Valencia ahead of the summer transfer window.

But now that the window has opened, right-back Pol Valentin will join Championship rivals Preston North End in July on a free transfer, as reported by BBC Sport.
The Owls would have been in significantly better stead to retain the Spaniard, who made 34 second-tier appearances this season, if it wasn’t for the precarious situation overseen by Chansiri.
Meanwhile, League One side Blackpool have confirmed that they have signed Michael Ihiekwe on a free transfer, while the 32-year-old showed that he still has a lot to offer in South Yorkshire, similarly to Valentin.
The former Rotherham man made 22 Championship appearances this term, and was selected regularly by Rohl towards the end of the campaign.
