‘Sheffield Wednesday set for Danny Rohl blow amid Middlesbrough development’
Sheffield Wednesday face an increasingly difficult challenge to keep hold of Danny Rohl ahead of the new Championship season.
The Owls are going through an uncertain period off the field with players and staff yet to receive their wages for the month of May.
As well as seeing the club at risk of losing talented players, the existing group are starting to speak out out against owner Dejphon Chansiri with Marvin Johnson taking to social media to react to the latest missed payment.
Now that the Thai businessman has failed to deliver his financial obligations once again, Sheffield Wednesday have been charged for breaching EFL regulations.
Meanwhile, Chansiri recently rejected an offer to buy Sheffield Wednesday, much to the disappointment of supporters who want to see the end of his troubling reign.
With the new season still two months away, Hillsborough is not a happy home with uncertainty rife from top to bottom.

Rohl is a leading candidate for Middlesbrough job
One of the few shining lights to come from Sheffield Wednesday in recent seasons has been the emergence of Rohl as one of Europe’s most talented young managers.
As a result, his services have attracted significant interest from around the continent with The Star reporting that he had held talks with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
It was reported by the Northern Echo (Tuesday June 11) that Rohl was on a three-man shortlist to replace Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough with interviews being held this week.
An undoubtedly popular choice among supporters at the Riverside Stadium, Rohl’s move to Middlesbrough could be the most popular outcome for all parties.

Rohl’s move away from Sheffield Wednesday seems inevitable
It seems almost impossible to imagine Rohl sitting in the Wednesday dugout on the opening day of the new season.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that current Sheffield Wednesday boss Rohl has a poor relationship with controversial owner Dejphon Chansiri, and could be tempted by a move away from Hillsborough.

However one obstacle to him joining Middlesbrough could be the buyout clause in his deal, which may lead to the Teessiders looking elsewhere.
Rohl’s stock has risen in recent seasons after helping the Owls to avoid relegation against the odds on the final day of the season in 2023/24.
He then led Sheffield Wednesday to 12th position in the EFL Championship last term, despite having one of the smallest budgets in the league.
Charlton are already keen to capitalise as they eye a move for Akin Femewo, while talisman Barry Bannan could also leave Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
