Sheffield Wednesday want to sign Man City winger on loan with just hours left until deadline

Sheffield Wednesday are exploring a late deal to sign Man City starlet Joel Ndala on loan as he struggles for minutes at Hull.

Wednesday‘s financial struggles have seen them rooted to the foot of the Championship table for the majority of the campaign so far.

They have been deducted a total of 18 points to sit in 24th on minus seven as it stands, with relegation already a certainty at this stage of the season.

The EFL have lifted certain restrictions previously imposed on the club in recent weeks, particularly those concerning incoming transfers, with four loanees signed so far in the January window.

Henrik Pedersen still has space for one loan player in his matchday squad for the remainder of the season, with Ndala potentially set to make the move to Hillsborough in the coming hours.

Wednesday want to agree Ndala loan with Man City and the EFL

Key man Svante Ingelsson looks set to stay at Wednesday despite reports linking him away, and Pedersen is aiming to finish the window successfully with another last-gasp arrival.

According to a new post on Patreon from journalist Alan Nixon, the Owls are looking into a loan deal for Man City winger Ndala, who is currently in the midst of a season-long spell at Yorkshire rivals Hull.

Wednesday hope to agree a move with the Citizens and the EFL for the 19-year-old winger, who has seen several players signed in his position at the KCOM Stadium over the last month.

Ndala has scored twice in 19 appearances for the Tigers so far this term, with just three starts in the Championship since the beginning of December.

Kalvin Phillips is also on his way to Sheffield from Man City

City have made some high-profile additions over the last month, with some fringe players allowed to leave in the latter stages of the window as they chase another Premier League title.

As well as Ndala, one Citizens player who could be spending the rest of the season in the Steel City is out-of-favour midfielder Phillips, who is wanted by Wednesday’s rivals, Sheffield United.

The 30-year-old has only made one appearance for Pep Guardiola‘s side this season, and he faces a few months out in the cold unless he seals an exit before the 7pm deadline.

Sheffield United have approached City over a loan deal for Phillips in the last few hours, in the hope that he wants to move back closer to Leeds and be given regular minutes at a competitive level.
