Celtic mainstay on top of the world as staggering statistic revealed

Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney has played more football than other player in world football so far this season.
The Herald has revealed that reputed football statistics site Transfmarkt shows the 20-year-old has already played a staggering 46 games for the Hoops and Scotland so far this season.
Two of Tierney’s team-mates have played the second and third most games so far this season, with James Forrest and Craig Gordon both having made 45 appearances for club and country and are followed closely by Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Chelsea’s Willian, both with 44 outings.
Gordon’s number of appearances will stay where it is for the foreseeable future however, as the Hoops goalkeeper is out of action for three months with a knee injury.
Tierney has been a mainstay in the Hoops side since bursting into the first-team under previous manager Ronny Deila.
His performances have went from strength to strength under Brendan Rodgers, and the player has already captained both Celtic and Scotland.
With the Hoops having no proper left-back cover he set to have another busy few months in action most weeks.
Tierney and the rest of his team-mates will be hoping to bounce back from their recent 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock when they take on Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
The Hoops then take on Zenit in the last 32 of the Europa League as attention turns to the cups.
