‘Sign him up permanently’ – Rangers fans taken aback by Fabio Silva as footage emerges

Rangers fans were in awe of Fabio Silva’s “special” performance against Livington on Saturday (3 February).

Philippe Clement’s side shortened the gap with Celtic to just three points after their 3-0 win against the Lions at Ibrox thanks to Silva’s opening goal, Rabbi Matondo’s late first-half effort and Todd Cantwell’s second-half strike.

Silva bagged his first-ever goal for Rangers with a cooly-taken finish in the 40th minute in his second start for his new club.

He latched onto a dropping ball from a corner and leathered his shot in at close range past Shamal Geroge in the Livingston net to give Rangers the lead.

The Portugal under-21 international moved to the club on loan for the remainder of the season from Premier League side Wolves.

The Gers have had plenty of issues in their front line this season, but Silva’s fine display in his third league appearance has given fans fresh hopes that they can improve their goalscoring output.

Supporters have taken to social media to hail the 21-year-old, and some are already convinced that the club should snap him up permanently at the end of the season.
