Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to tie manager Garry Monk down to a new contract.

This came after new joint-owner Andrea Radrizzani admitted extending Monk’s contract was one of his top priorities.

The manager, 37, has overseen a hugely positive transformation at Leeds and the Championship outfit are now in terrific form and rising up the league table.

Friday evening’s performance against Derby was arguably one of their best of the season and it demonstrated the progression the team has made under Monk’s guidance.

Fans were delighted to hear Radrizzani has intentions of extending Monk’s deal as manager and they have urged the owner to get it done as soon as possible.

Leeds are eyeing a number of new additions in January but the main target was to secure permanent deals for some of the club’s biggest stars who are currently on loan.

Pablo Hernandez was the first player to complete a permanent deal but Pontus Jansson, Kyle Bartley, Matt Grimes and Hadi Sacko could all follow suit in the January transfer window.

The club have also been heavily linked with a move for former Liverpool youngster Sergi Canos as well as Ashley Fletcher and it’s likely Monk will also sign before the end of the month.

In other Leeds news, this Sky Sports pundit hailed Pablo Hernandez for his influence on the squad.
