Ray Parlour has urged Arsenal to break the bank in order to keep Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil at the Emirates Stadium.
Both players have stalled on signing new contracts, with manager Arsene Wenger yet to shed any light on whether he will remain at the helm next season.
Speaking to Alan Brazil’s sports breakfast show on talkSPORT, former Gunners midfielder Parlour believes his old side should offer both players a huge £250,000 a week.
“Arsenal are going to have to go big,” Parlour said, as quoted by Brazil’s personal Twitter account.
“They’re going to have to go to £250,000 a week which the board are probably not going to like to do. But this is what you’ve got to do to keep Sanchez. Sign them up, pay the money.
“Sanchez is so important and you saw that on the weekend. If you are going to replace Sanchez, with his quality, you’re going to have to spend £50million plus.
“Then, they want £200,000 a week because that is the going rate of everyone at other clubs.”

Both Ozil and Sanchez were in sparkling form on Saturday evening, as the Gunners moved to within three points of the Champions League top four with a convincing 4-1 win over Stoke.
The two combined for Arsenal’s second, as Sanchez threaded an inch-perfect pass through the Stoke defence that saw Ozil latch on and chip onrushing goalkeeper Jack Butland.
The Germany international and ex-Barcelona star Sanchez could leave the Gunners at the end of the 2017-18 season for free when their contracts expire, if they do not agree terms between now and then.
In other Arsenal news, the Gunners have finalised the paperwork over the signing of this defender.
