Simon Jordan takes swipe at Ross McCormack after Aston Villa exit is confirmed
By Danny Wright
Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan doesn’t expect Ross McCormack to pull up any trees in his loan spell at Melbourne City.
McCormack, 31, has had a very turbulent spell at Aston Villa and with him falling foul of manager Steve Bruce after failing to turn up to training, he is now on his second loan stint away from Villa Park.
Australian A-League side Melbourne City have decided to recruit the Scotland international on a short-term basis and when announcing him on their official Twitter account they announced themselves as being “pleased” to sign him.
Businessman Jordan is known for his pro-Villa views on social media, and took to his personal Twitter account to take a swipe at McCormack by telling Melbourne: “You won’t be for long.”
McCormack hasn’t played a single Championship game for the Villains this season after being shipped out to Nottingham Forest last January as a result of his bust-up with Bruce.
He then fell down the pecking order at the City Ground as his poor form continued and after failing to secure a new employer in the summer he was left in limbo at Villa Park.
The ex-Leeds forward has made a total of 24 appearances since joining the Villains, scoring just three goals in the process and hasn’t even started a game in any competitions this season.
In other Aston Villa news, Harry Redknapp has made a bizarre claim about the Villains in comparison to Birmingham.
