Sir Jim Ratcliffe could do something ’embarrassing in the extreme’ at Man United
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made a number of controversial decisions at Man United, but the owner could be about to make another at Old Trafford.
Man United could be open to a sale amid financial issues with plans also having been drawn up for a new stadium to replace Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim has been backed by Ratcliffe despite his poor Man United record, which has seen the club fail to win back-to-back games under his leadership.
Man United’s 2-0 win against Sunderland, means Amorim has a chance to break that unwanted record when the Red Devils travel to Liverpool next.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe could make ’embarrassing’ decision
As per the Daily Mail [14 October], Ratcliffe has been told he would be making a fool of himself if he was to sack Amorim amid his backing of the manager and a potential takeover.
“Amorim would be vulnerable even if he was on a par with United’s expectations after bringing him in from Sporting Lisbon a year ago and spending heavily on new players to fit his system,” the Daily Mail reported.
“A ‘haul’ of just 37 points from his first 34 Premier League games – not to mention no European football and a Carabao Cup exit to League Two Grimsby Town – is well below par.
“Ratcliffe and the hierarchy he has put in place at Old Trafford have invested heavily in Amorim, so it would be embarrassing in the extreme to pull the plug now. A new owner is unlikely to have any such reservations.“
Amorim has a win percentage of just 40% at Man United, finishing 15th in his first season in charge of the club.
Ruben Amorim looking to continue Liverpool unbeaten streak
Ultimately though Amorim is under pressure at Old Trafford, with results and performances needing to greatly improve.
Many supporters may be worried at the impending trip to Anfield to take on champions Liverpool, whose strike force has the ability to carve open the Red Devils.

Whilst Man United have not beaten Liverpool at Anfield in 10 matches since 2016, they have managed to avoid defeat in the past two encounters.
Amorim was manager for that 2-2 draw back in January, his only game against the Reds so far, where a positive performance earned Man United a deserved point.
