Six-match ban? Expert shares Mohammed Kudus verdict after Sky reveal
West Ham star Mohammed Kudus is unlikely to receive a six-game ban after being charged following his sending-off against Tottenham.
That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider he doesn’t understand what the big deal is around the situation.
The Ghana international was handed a red card in his side’s 4-1 defeat in north London for kicking Spurs defender Micky van de Ven and pushing both the Dutchman and midfielder Pape Matar Sarr in the face.
Tottenham, West Ham and Kudus have all since been charged by the FA.
Speaking on Sky Sports following the incident, former Premier League referee Mike Dean revealed the 24-year-old could face a six-game ban for striking two players in the face.
Mohammed Kudus shouldn’t face six-game West Ham ban
But Borson doesn’t believe the offence warrants such a lengthy ban.
He told Football Insider: “I don’t see that it was serious enough for a six-game ban.
“Clearly, they will look at it.
“But I think the judicial bar for giving him a six-game ban is quite high for that.
“I’m not sure what the key driver or key allegations are.
“Unfortunately, it doesn’t help looking at it now, but the interesting thing on all those disciplinary cases is actually to look at it once you get the decision through.
“You get all the facts in the judgement and they are usually quite juicy because they give you a lot of extra colour, like what people said when.

“It seems unlikely that it would be six games.
“It didn’t seem that bad, so I don’t really understand what the big deal is.”
