Sky anchorman: Tottenham have suffered new injury blow
By Harry Sykes
Victor Wanyama was injured in the warm-up and pulled out of the Tottenham squad shortly before their Premier League clash against Watford on Saturday, according to a broadcaster.
Sky Sports anchorman Simon Thomas explained shortly before Spurs’ lunchtime kick-off that the Kenyan midfielder would play no part in the game.
Wanyama had been named in the matchday squad by manager Mauricio Pochettino after missing the midweek defeat at Burnley with a back problem, the first Premier League game this season he had not been in the starting XI.
He appeared to shrugged off a back complaint but it clearly was aggravated again and the 25-year-old was replaced on the bench by attacking midfielder Josh Onomah.
“Wanyama was named on the bench today but he pulled up during the pre-match warm-up and he is out. Josh Onomah comes in,” Thomas told Sky Sports 1’s live coverage of the White Hart Lane encounter.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are second in the Premier League and are Chelsea’s only realistic challengers for the title in the final weeks of the season.
Before Saturday’s matches, Antonio Conte’s team were seven points clear ahead of the north Londoners in the table.
In other Tottenham team news, the London giants have won the race to sign a 32-goal striker who has taken the league by storm.
