Sky journalist reveals number of Everton signings expected this summer
By Derek Smithson
Everton are expected to make six signings this summer as they look to bolster their squad, according to a reliable journalist.
Sky Sports correspondent Jim White revealed on his personal Twitter account that the Toffees are looking to bring in a further five players in the window after agreeing a fee for Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford.
White detailed that a £30million fee had been agreed for the 23-year-old goalkeeper and the contract is believed to be five years-plus.
Ronald Koeman is expected to undergo several changes at Goodison Park as he prepares his squad for European football next year.
The Merseyside club finished seventh in the Premier League table and will be entered into the Europa League as a result, while also trying to force their way into the top six in English football.
Pickford would signal a real statement of intent if they get a £30million deal over the line as he is considered to be one of the best upcoming goalkeepers in the Premier League.
Koeman has a growing reputation as a manager and looks set to put his stamp on the Everton squad.
The Dutchman has shown an intent to promote young talents already during his first year at the club by purchasing youngsters such as Ademola Lookman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Toffees will also be hoping they can keep hold of their key players, with star forward Romelu Lukaku heavily linked with a move away.
In other Everton transfer news, they have re-emerged as favourites to sign a £25million-rated defender.
