Sky Sports pundit: This 23-year-old Everton star is an exceptional talent
By Matt Bullin
Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp has heaped praise on Everton’s Ross Barkley after his performance in the Toffees 4-2 win over Leicester.
Everton went ahead after just 30 seconds as Tom Davies scored, before Leicester struck back to go ahead after goals from Islam Slimani and Marc Albrighton.
Romelu Lukaku then headed home a superb Barkley cross to level the scores, before Phil Jagielka nodded home from a corner to retake the lead for the Toffees.
However Barkley did miss a golden chance to score late in the first half – after being put through one-on-one by Davies, he was unable to round the ‘keeper, and spurned the opportunity.
Lukaku then added another in the second period to wrap up a fine 4-2 win for Everton.

Speaking on Sky Sports 1’s Nissan Super Sunday (Sunday 6pm) Redknapp heaped praise on Barkley’s performance.
He said: “I love the way Barkley played today.
“He divides opinion, he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but when he’s on form he’s an exceptional talent.”
Barkley, 23, now has seven Premier League assists to add to his four goals in 29 league appearances.
Everton’s win means they stay in seventh but keep pace with Man United who beat Sunderland 3-0 earlier today.
The Toffees are now level on points with Arsenal, though the Gunners do play tomorrow night, while they stay three points behind United.
