Sky report details Tottenham transfer plans for final fortnight of the window
By Harry Sykes
Tottenham will batten down the hatches and not allow any more senior players to leave this month, according to a report.
Sky Sports claimed on their transfer centre blog on Wednesday (5.22pm) that White Hart Lane chiefs will prevent any first team squad members following Tom Carroll out of the exit door in the final 10 days of the January window.
Tottenham academy product Carroll signed for Swansea on Tuesday in a deal reported to be worth an initial £4.5million and rising to £9million with add-ons.
The midfielder, 24, has been the only senior player transferred in or out of the north London club this month and he could be the only major piece of business that is done.
There have been claims from the agent of Kevin Wimmer that the centre-back has been inundated with offers from German clubs, including former employers Koln.

But Sky report that manager Mauricio Pochettino has no intention of selling the Austria international this month, especially in the light of the serious ankle injury suffered by Jan Vertonghen.
The Belgium international is set to be sidelined for around two months with ankle ligament damage sustained in Spurs’ 4-0 win over West Brom last weekend.
Wimmer is a frontrunner to replace Vertonghen in Pochettino’s new three-man defensive system that has paid huge dividends in recent weeks.
Tottenham travel to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday aiming for a seventh consecutive league win.
