Sky Sports predictor ranks Liverpool top four hopes

Sky Sports’ Premier Predictor has tipped Liverpool to miss out on the top four this season.

Sky Sports have run their machine, which predicts results based on form, winning margins, home advantage and strength of schedule, to look at the final Premier League table.

The final table has placed the Merseyside club as sixth by the end of the season, with Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in fifth.

The Predictor has runaway leaders Chelsea to clinch the title, with Tottenham, Manchester City and Arsenal completing the top four.

Liverpool have seen their form drop considerably since the beginning of 2017 and have just one victory in 10 matches across all competitions.

The Reds are without a win in the five Premier League games and that has seen them drop down to fifth in the table, despite being regarded as one of the main contenders earlier on in the season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were beaten 2-0 away to relegation threatened Hull on Saturday to pile on their misery and face in-form Tottenham in their next match.

Liverpool’s title aspirations appear to be very slim as they are unlikely to overhaul the 13-point gap to current leaders Chelsea, but will be more concerned about earning a Champions League spot.

They are just a point behind the top four and the league remains their sole focus until the end of the season, but will need a drastic turnaround in results if they are to climb the table.

In other Liverpool news, Tony Cascarino believes they should have signed an England international in the summer.
