“The Celtic players are obviously on a high after what they achieved and the one I’m pinning my hopes on is Stuart Armstrong [against England],” Nicholas told Sky Sports. “He’s not signed a new contract and I imagine teams of significance in England will be interested, especially if he performs on Saturday.
Armstrong has just one year remaining on his existing deal with the Scottish champions and fans will be hoping he commits his future to them.
The attacking midfielder made 47 appearances across all competitions last season and racked up experience in the Champions League.
He scored a remarkable 17 goals and supplied seven assists in return, which helped him earn a nomination for the PFA Player of the Year in the Scottish league.
