Sky Sports pundit: This is how Leeds will fare in the Premier League
By Will Butcher
Chris Kirkland believes Leeds would become a strong side in the Premier League should they gain promotion from the Championship this season.
Garry Monk’s side currently sit in fourth position in the Championship, as they eye a return to the top flight for the first time since their collapse back in 2004.
Former Liverpool goalkeeper Kirkland heaped praise on the work done by manager Monk, and claimed that the Yorkshire giants would be a “very good side” in the Premier League.
“Having known whats gone on with Leeds in recent years, including three managers in one season at one point, Monk deserves praise,” Kirkland told Sky Sports Premier League Daily Show on Thursday.
“They’re a huge huge club and they’ve got the right philosophy.

“Monk has done a fantastic job and if they gain promotion to the Premier League this season, then with their fans, they could be a very good side in the top flight.”
Former Swansea boss Monk has become co-owner Massimo Cellino’s longest-serving manager since the Italian bought the club in the summer of 2014.
Six different faces have been in the dugout since the former Cagliari owner took over, but Monk has continued to develop his reputation as one of the best young managers in English football.
Leeds next face Ian Holloway’s QPR on Saturday, with three points enough to take them third and within six points of the automatic promotion places if Brighton and Huddersfield lose.
However, QPR beat Leeds 3-0 in Monk’s first game in charge and the 38-year-old boss will be wary of a repeat.
In other Leeds news, this is the expected side to face QPR.
