Sky Sports pundit David Prutton believes that Leeds United will lose to Fulham when the two sides meet at Craven Cottage next Tuesday.
Leeds play Bolton at Elland Road on Friday but Prutton has jumped ahead and predicted that Paul Heckingbottom’s men will lose 3-1 to the in-form Londoners.
The former Whites midfielder claims that Heckingbottom will now be looking towards the summer transfer window to try and strengthen his squad.
“It looks as though it’s going to be the play-offs again for Fulham and they’ll hope to be better prepared for it now than they were last season, when they were favourites going in but slipped up against Reading.
“Leeds, meanwhile, just need the season to end with as little damage as possible to allow Paul Heckingbottom the chance to build his team in the summer. This is a home win for me,” Prutton said on the Sky Sports website.
Football Insider verdict
It is very hard to see Leeds getting anything against Fulham next week. The Whites’ form has been horrific with just one win since Boxing Day while Fulham are staging a late charge for the automatic promotion spots. Aleksandar Mitrovic has been on fire for the Cottagers since joining them on loan from Newcastle and he continued his form in front of goal by scoring on international duty for Serbia. Given how poorly the United defence has played lately, there’s very little chance that they will be able to stop him. Leeds can improve their chances of a win by beating Bolton on Friday, but it will still be a mammoth task for them to win both of their Easter fixtures.
In other Leeds United news, fans have urged the club to hire this two-time Championship-winning manager in the summer.
