Sky Sports pundit predicts Leeds clash v Barnsley
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton believes that Leeds United will fail to beat Barnsley at Elland Road on Saturday and will have to settle for a draw.
The former Leeds midfielder has predicted that Paul Heckingbottom will see the Whites draw 1-1 with his former side – a result that could see the Tykes’ position in the relegation zone become much worse.
Leeds have won just two games since Boxing Day and have plummeted down to 14th place in the Championship standings.
Barnsley are 22nd and know that they will have to win against United in order to drag themselves out of the bottom three.
However Prutton does not believe that the Tykes will be able to pull that off against their former manager.
“Will Paul Heckingbottom be the man to push his old side further towards relegation? It will certainly make for interesting viewing at Elland Road on Saturday,” he said on the Sky Sports website.

“Leeds are treading water in the league now but their fans will be desperate for a performance from their side against their local rivals. Barnsley need a win, but I can’t see them getting more than a draw.”
Football Insider verdict
Leeds’ form has been dreadful in 2018, but this is one game that they should really be eyeing up a win in. Barnsley are started to look doomed, but they are the only team in this game that has something to fight for, so the mentality of the Leeds squad might be a big problem. On paper, Heckingbottom’s men should win this without a sweat, but the Whites squad has been misfiring for almost five months now. This game really could go either way and it will be interesting to see how Heckingbottom’s position at Elland Road would be effected if he was to lose to his former club.
In other Leeds United news, fans have been demanding that this 29-year-old leaves the Yorkshire club in the summer.
