David Prutton believes that Leeds United will be able to continue their brilliant start to the season by winning at Millwall on Saturday.
The Sky Sports pundit has predicted that Thomas Christiansen’s side will earn a 2-0 win at the New Den to further cement their spot at the top of the Championship table.
Leeds are yet to lose a game this season and haven’t conceded a league goal since the opening day win against Bolton over a month ago.
Former Elland Road midfielder Prutton thinks that his old club’s business over the summer has been a large factor in what has seen their start to the season be such a success.
“Leeds are riding on the crest of a wave. Thomas Christiansen has had a great start, their recruitment looks good and it doesn’t look like they’re going to miss Chris Wood at all,” said Prutton on the Sky Sports website.
“Millwall will be happy to get back home after a couple of tough away trips. They beat Norwich 4-0 last time, but I think Leeds will have too much for them.”
Leeds have the opportunity to move four points clear at the top of the table if results go their way at the weekend.
Second placed Cardiff have a difficult clash with Sheffield Wednesday to contend with, meaning that the Whites have every chance of making the top spot their own in the early stages of this campaign.
However recent history is not on Leeds’ side as in all of the last six meetings between them and Millwall, the home side has been able to walk away with all three points.
The Yorkshire club’s last win at the New Den came in 2012 when Ross McCormack scored the only goal of a 1-0 win.
In other Leeds United news, Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp made a bizarre claim about his side after they lost to the Whites on Tuesday night.
