Paul Merson has backed Liverpool to record a comfortable victory against Bournemouth and has stressed the importance of Philippe Coutinho.
The Reds host Bournemouth on Wednesday night in the Premier League and will be looking to avenge the 4-3 defeat from the previous meeting this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have found it more difficult against teams in the bottom half of the table this campaign and the Cherries will take confidence from that.
The Merseyside club are third-placed in the league table and looking to cement their position inside the top-four spots.
Sky Sports pundit Merson has tipped Liverpool to win 3-1 at Anfield and feels that attacking midfielder Coutinho will be a vital player.

“Liverpool struggle against the lesser teams at home, but if they can win this, back-to-back wins, they’ll cement their place in the top four,” Merson told Sky Sports. “Philippe Coutinho is back in form, and he looked superb on Saturday against Everton. He’s the key to them against these sides near the bottom of the table.”
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last four league games and that has enhanced their chances of gaining a Champions League spot.
They beat Merseyside rivals Everton 3-1 on Saturday and now have a six-point gap over fifth-placed Manchester United, who have played two games less.
The race for the top-four is set to go down to the wire and Klopp will be desperate for another three points at the weekend.
In other Liverpool news, Jamie Carragher claims they must make three signing in order to compete for the league title.
