Sky Sports pundit: This is how good Celtic 24-year-old is
By Dominic Toner
Charlie Nicholas claims that Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong is currently the best player in Scotland.
The 24-year-old is enjoying a fantastic season for the Bhoys and has been thriving under the management of Brendan Rodgers.
He has benefited from a switch to a more central role this campaign and has been a key player during his club’s unbeaten domestic form.
Armstrong was included in Scotland’s squad during the international break and was rested in Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw against Canada in a friendly.
However, manager Gordon Strachan could be prepared to unleash him in the World Cup qualifier against Slovenia at the weekend.

Sky Sports pundit Nicholas believes that the attack-minded midfielder must start in Scotland’s next game and highlighted how well he has been performing this season.
“Armstrong’s a must for me (against Slovenia),” Nicholas told Sky Sports. “He’s the best player in Scotland right now and if he starts I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t score.”
Armstrong has managed to cement his position in the number 10 role for Celtic this season and is looking to help them achieve an invincibles season.
The attacking midfielder has made 37 appearances across all competitions this season and is one of the first names on the team sheet.
He has spent the most of his career as a winger, but Rodgers has improved his game by bringing him into a central role.
Armstrong has scored 12 goals and supplied seven assists as a result, making him one of Celtic’s most creative players.
The Bhoys have had star performers in the likes of Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair, but Armstrong has been as vital a component as anyone and may get the opportunity to prove his qualities on the international stage.
