Danny Higginbotham believes that Liverpool have a great chance to beat Manchester City on Saturday and has highlighted that they will be able to exploit their opponents’ defence.
Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon for a highly-anticipated Premier League clash and will be looking to lay down a marker in the title race.
The Merseyside club have seven points from their opening three league games and will be full of confidence after smashing Arsenal 4-0 in their last outing before the international break.
Liverpool winger Sadio Mane was recently crowned Premier League’s Player of the Month for August and he has been one of their star men in great form.
Sky Sports pundit Higginbotham predicts that Klopp’s team will be able to stun Man City on the counter attack and that they will be set-up intentionally to do so.
They have the pace of Mane and Mohamed Salah on the break who Higginbotham believes will be able to pick gaps in the Man City back-line.
“Liverpool go to the Etihad today buoyed by a fine start to the season,” Higgonbotham wrote in the Sun. “And I fancy the Reds might be on even more of a high come full-time against Manchester City.
“They were magnificent against fellow top-six teams last season with no losses, five wins and five draws.
Those wins are down to how they set up and take advantage of their rivals’ attacking instincts.
“Whether City play with a back four or five, they will be on the front foot and leave gaps. And I expect Liverpool to exploit them.”
Klopp has manage to bring his attacking style to Anfield and has become a firm fan favourite as a result.
His Liverpool side showed against Arsenal their attacking prowess and they do have a good record against their opponents at the weekend.
They are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches against Man City, winning four of them in the process.
