Sky Sports pundit: This Tottenham star on 'top of his game' - gives end-of-season prediction
Sky Sports pundit Tony Cottee has been left raving over the form of Tottenham star Christian Eriksen after his two goals against Stoke City helped “cement” a top four finish for the club.
The Lilywhites managed to overcome the Potters thanks to the Dane’s brace on Saturday – although there are still doubts over whether the second goal should have been awarded to Harry Kane instead after he attacked the free kick from the midfield playmaker.
Now Cottee says the Danish international has never been in better form and that although the overall performance from Spurs left much to be desired, the result was great, leaving the pundit to predict they will definitely be among the top four come the end of the season.
Writing in his report of the weekend’s games on Sky Sports’ website, he said: “It wasn’t a particularly great performance from them but it was effective, and in Christian Eriksen they’ve got a player who is on the top of his game.
“It was a great result for them and pretty much cements their chances of finishing in the top four.”
Spurs now sit 10 points ahead of fifth placed Chelsea with six games left to play.

Football Insider verdict
There can be no doubts over the quality that Eriksen provides to Mauricio Pochettino’s side but what may well be overlooked is the consistency he has offered as of late. There were doubts over his ability to keep up his high standards after some disappointing displays but there have been no such issues over recent weeks, playing a key role on the way to what looks like a guaranteed top-four finish for another season. With that secured, all focus must turn towards securing the chance to play for the FA Cup title in the final come May, with Manchester United standing in their way.
