Sky Sports studio erupts at ‘unbelievable’ Jack Grealish in Man City v Leicester
Jack Grealish caused the Sky Sports studio to burst into laughter during Man City’s clash against Leicester City.
The former Aston Villa man has struggled immensely at the Etihad Stadium over the last couple of seasons, with some supporters suggesting that Grealish and Pep Guardiola had fallen out.
With 16 months passing since the winger’s last Premier League goal, Paul Merson had already discussed Grealish’s miserable form at Man City, being shocked by his inability to get into the lineup ahead of Jeremy Doku or Savinho.
However, those thoughts were quickly exposed as the 29-year-old opened the scoring against the Foxes after just two minutes on Wednesday, 2 April.
Following the studio’s previous conversation about the player, nobody could believe what Danny Mills was just about to tell them as he watched Pep Guardiola‘s side race into a lead.

Speaking via Sky Sports Soccer Special (2 April, 7:48pm), Mills cracked up the panel in the studio, saying: “Jack Grealish, unbelievable. He’s had his critics, in this studio as well, to be honest.”
Merson quickly interjected: “Over that side,” as Mills continued: “Savinho goes down the inside right channel, checks back, Leicester, they just don’t move. It’s like they’re statues in the box.
“They’ve got three or four defenders in there. Grealish is there, just by the penalty spot, just sweeps in into the back of the net right-footed. You must be thinking, if you’re Ruud van Nistelrooy, ‘Make it difficult early on’.
“Jack Grealish wanders into the box completely unmarked and basically just strokes it into an empty net. He won’t score an easier goal, although he gets a little bit lucky, might be a double-touch.”
Omar Marmoush added a second as City ran out comfortable 2-0 winners.

Football Insider verdict
It has been no secret that Grealish has struggled at Man City in recent seasons, and while a single goal will not completely overturn his form, the goal could not have come at a better time.
Guardiola could certainly be in his final season at Man City, and if Champions League football is not secured via a top-four finish in the league, supporters might be ready for a change.

City have not dropped down to the Europa League since 2011, but with Chelsea, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Brighton all fighting for the same positions, it is not as easy as it has been in previous campaigns.
A simple victory against the Foxes has certainly helped relieve some of the worries about the end-of-season run-in, and Grealish getting his Premier League season off the mark will also help.
It really could not have come at a better time for Guardiola’s squad, with Man City dealing with the huge blow of Erling Haaland’s long-term injury, and Leicester were put aside with ease, even without him.
