Sky Sports studio in disbelief at Millwall’s Coburn shocker v Burnley: ‘Oh my days’
Millwall striker Josh Coburn produced a stunning miss to leave the Sky Sports studio shocked as his side faced Burnley on the final day of the Championship season.
Coburn is currently on loan with Alex Neil‘s side from fellow second-tier side Middlesbrough, and has had a mixed time of things at The Den.
Going into the last day of the campaign on Saturday (3 May), the Lions still had a chance to secure their place in the play-offs as they travelled to Burnley.
Millwall knew they needed to win and hope for results elsewhere to go their way in order to snatch a top six place, but Coburn would miss a big chance to put them ahead in the game.

Josh Coburn misses from yards out
In contrast to their visitors, Burnley has already guaranteed automatic promotion to the Premier League, although they were still battling with Leeds for the Championship title.
It was Millwall who would take the lead after 11 minutes following a close range finish from Josh Coburn, before Josh Brownhill equalised for the Clarets almost immediately after.
Neil’s side would then miss an incredible chance to go back in front moments before half time after a stunning miss from Coburn.
As a ball across the box evaded Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, it fell in to the path of the Millwall striker just yards out from the centre of the goal.
But on the stretch the Middlesbrough loanee was unable to turn the ball into the back of the net, as it instead drifted narrowly wide of the far post.

Reporting on the game for Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, Kris Boyd was left stunned by that miss, with the former Rangers striker exclaiming (1:06pm): “Oh my days! Oh my days! Oh. My. Days. Wait till you see this miss, wow. Wow.
“Oh, Josh Coburn. Down the right-hand side, it’s a lovely ball, he does well you can see, he gets away, wait till you see this.”
Paul Merson interjected by simply saying: “No… oh no…”, before Boyd continued while trying to stifle laughter by adding: “I cannot believe this. Oh look at it. Oh my days. Oh my days.
“And just when you thought you wouldn’t see anything like Clinton Morrison again. Oh my days, still 1-1, what an opportunity.”
Morrison himself then chimed in, while the rest of the panel were united in howls of derision and the miss, by commenting: “That’s how I made my living.”
Millwall left to rue glaring miss
Football Insider Verdict
It is hard to know quite how Coburn did not put that chance in the back of the net given how well positioned he was to do so.
Had he been able to get that goal, Millwall would have been back in front at Turf Moor, and may have had the momentum to go on and claim victory.
That in turn would have been crucial in terms of potentially securing a place in the play-offs, which of course would then have opened the door to promotion to the Premier League.
Instead, Burnley would go on to claim a 3-1 win over Millwall, who were forced to settle for an eighth place finish in the final standings.
As a result, this miss is one that is likely to play on the mind of Coburn, and many others connected with the club, for a very long time.
Amid moments like this, it may also now be interesting to see just how things play out for the striker when it comes to his future this summer as his loan stay at Millwall comes to an end.
