Slaven Bilic delivers West Ham verdict ahead of Chelsea clash
By Dominic Toner
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic insists that his side can be confident when they face Premier League leaders Chelsea after beating them once already this season.
The Hammers host their London rivals on Monday night in the league and will be looking for a repeat of their cup success over Antonio Conte’s side.
West Ham earned a 2-1 victory against Chelsea in the EFL Cup fourth-round in October, when the match was marred by crowd troubles between both sets of fans.
Bilic’s side have now adjusted following their move to the London Stadium and will hope to halt Chelsea’s charge to the league title.
The runaways leaders are 10 points clear at the top of the table and did beat West Ham 2-1 in the previous league meeting this season at Stamford Bridge.

However, Bilic believes his team can draw on their positive result against Chelsea this season to help them.
“We beat Chelsea last time and it means a lot, because we know it’s not impossible. We’ve done it recently,” Bilc said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

West Ham go into the match on the back of consecutive draws against Watford and West Brom, plus a 3-1 win over Southampton.
They are up to ninth in the league table after finding some stronger form in 2017, but will be wary that they have been blown away by the top teams at home this season.
The Hammers lost to Manchester City 4-0 at the beginning of February, while being defeated 5-1 to Arsenal at home.
West Ham will go into the game as underdogs as they try to contend with a very strong team, but it’s set to be a hotly contested contest.
