‘So annoying’ – Chelsea fans want ‘disappointment’ sold after what he did vs Burnley

Chelsea made hard work of their 2-0 win over Burnley, and Enzo Maresca will think twice about playing one of his biggest names.

Despite Cole Palmer missing for Chelsea after fracturing his toe in an at-home accident earlier in the week, the Blues took the lead through Pedro Neto in the 37th minute.

Jamie Gittens has struggled to find his feet since arriving at Stamford Bridge, but it was the former Borussia Dortmund player who supplied the cross to the goalscorer at the back post.

Scott Parker‘s side pushed for an all-important equaliser, but it was not enough as the Blues held out for their seventh Premier League win of the season, as Enzo Fernandez fired home in the 88th minute.

One player who massively disappointed at Turf Moor on Saturday, 22 November, however, was Joao Pedro, and the visiting supporters were calling for the forward’s head, even before half-time.

One supporter was frustrated enough to want the club to “get rid” of the new forward, with another labelling him a “disappointment” after the difficult win at Turf Moor.

Joao Pedro’s performance by numbers vs Burnley

It was far from an ideal performance from the Brazilian international, and with Liam Delap taking the striker spot at Turf Moor, fans were more focused on the attacker’s failures.

Picking up a yellow card for pulling at Lesley Ugochukwu‘s shirt just topped off the afternoon for the player, who has scored just twice in his last 11 games for the Blues.

Maresca clearly has some issues to sort out in the final third, with the attack currently being carried by Neto, but despite that, the Blues are still second in the Premier League table.

The team is still in the works, and so too is Pedro, and those behind the scenes will need to study his performance closely if he is to improve as the season goes on.
