'Something wrong' - Sky Sports pundit fumes at Leeds duo, pinpoints major issue
Former Leeds United star and current Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has been left fuming with the way owner Andrea Radrizzani and director of football Victor Orta have acted in the transfer window.
The Whites have endured a bitterly disappointing campaign, having held early season hopes of a play off finish, and currently sit 12th in the table after their just their third win of 2018, a 2-1 derby victory over rivals Barnsley.
Much criticism has been levelled at the club’s transfer window last summer, with an overhaul, led by top brass pair Radrizzani and Orta, seeing a host of foreign, unproven talent coming in to the club.
Now Prutton, who is a regular pundit on both Sky Sports’ broadcasts and website, has revealed his anger at the change in transfer tactic, insisting that there is a major issue among the recruitment, pinpointing their avoidance of big wages as a major issue.
He told Football League World: “When you look at the way the club is run, when you look at the recruitment policy, there seems to be something wrong.
“You never see Leeds linked with big Championship players at the moment because they don’t pay the type of wages that these big players command.

“Leeds need to aim higher and get better.”
Football Insider verdict
The new recruits certainly struggled on their arrival at Elland Road and while some, such as Samu Saiz, have landed on their feet, there are others who simply do not look cut out for the Championship. They looked to change that in the winter window, with Adam Forshaw arriving from Middlesbrough, but by that point it was too little, too late. Prutton is right to point the finger at Radrizzani and Orta, but until the upcoming summer window has come and passed, some judgement must be reserved. If they repeat their antics of last summer, then it is time to react, but if they follow January’s lead, then at least they have learned.
In other Leeds United transfer news, the club must launch a free swoop for a Championship veteran set for the exit door.
