Son Heung-min and Mathys Tel react to major Tottenham player update

Tottenham have started to make decisions on a number of players ahead of a busy summer for the club, leading to responses from big names such as Son Heung-min and Mathys Tel.

This season proved to be a disaster for Spurs in the Premier League, losing 22 of their 38 league games on their way to a 17th place finish.

Even so, a 1-0 win for Tottenham over Man United in the Europa League final would salvage the campaign by considerable lengths.

As well as ending their long wait for a trophy, that also ensures they will be competing in the Champions League this season.

Tottenham exits confirmed as rebuild begins

Having been so below-par in the Premier League this season, it is clear they will have to strengthen in the summer if they are to be competitive in Europe’s top competition in the 2025/26 campaign.

That of course means that individuals will have to be moved on to make room for new recruits, and those departures have now started to be revealed.

It was also confirmed that Timo Werner will leave Tottenham this summer following a loan spell from RB Leipzig that has proved largely disastrous.

After the club posted confirmation of those exits on their Instagram page, several other individuals at the club appeared keen to show their support for now former teammates.

The likes of Son, Tel and goalkeepers Guglielmo Vicario and Brandon Austin would all like that announcement post from Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou among remaining futures to be decided at Spurs

Football Insider Verdict

With these players having largely found themselves on the sidelines in North London, it is no surprise they are now being moved on, although they are unlikely to the only ones.

Speculation that Ange Postecoglou will leave Tottenham this summer despite ending their wait for a trophy continues to grow.

Meanwhile, there are a number of other players whose future with the club are also still up in the air at this point.

Indeed, it remains to be seen if Tottenham will sign Tel permanently from Bayern Munich, after what has been a mixed spell on loan for the young attacker.

With all that in mind, the make up of personnel around the Spurs first-team could look rather different come the start of next season.
