Sources: Aberdeen set to sign Blackburn Rovers star Dilan Markanday
Blackburn Rovers winger Dilan Markanday is set to join Aberdeen on loan, sources have told Football Insider.
Markanday, 21, is well down the pecking order at Ewood Park having made just six first-team appearances this season and Rovers are happy to loan him out so that he can valuable first-team experience.
Markanday, who joined Rovers from Tottenham last January, has travelled to Aberdeen for a medical ahead of finalising a loan move until the end of the season.

The Spurs youth product has struggled to nail down a starting spot in Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side this season.
His only Championship appearance in the 2022/23 season came earlier this month when making a brief 34-minute cameo during a 4-0 loss to Rotherham United.
Markanday was given more opportunities in the EFL Cup this season, scoring twice in his four appearances in the competition as he helped Blackburn reach the fourth round.
His two EFL Cup goals came in the first and second round against Hartlepool and Bradford City.
Markanday was also handed a start in the FA Cup third-round tie against Norwich City earlier this month but he was dropped for the fourth-round clash despite playing the full 90 minutes for the 1-0 win over the Canaries.

Born in Barnet, Markanday spent his youth in North London at Tottenham’s academy.
However, he only made one senior appearance for Spurs after graduating to the senior team when he featured in a Europa Conference League clash against Vitesse in October 2021.
