Sources: Alfredo Morelos open to signing new Rangers deal as he rejects Turkey move
Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is not interested in a move to Turkey before their transfer window closes on Wednesday (8 February), sources have told Football Insider.
Turkish Super Lig side Konyaspor have been linked with a move for Morelos as they look to bring in a marquee signing late in the day.
It is believed that Morelos, 26, who is out of contract at Ibrox the end of the season, is not considering a move to Turkey and has knocked back interest.
He is focused on finishing the season with the Scottish giants, who have not given up hope of securing him to a new contract.
In turn, Morelos has privately not ruled out the possibility of signing what would be a surprise new deal with the club.
The Colombia international is in the final months of his current Ibrox contract – which is set to expire at the end of this season.
Morelos has notched nine goals and five assists across 31 appearances this season.
He has enjoyed a spell of starts at the Ibrox club in recent months, starting five of the last six Scottish Premiership fixtures.
The striker has proved to be an inspired signing since joining from HJK Helsinki in 2017, scoring 121 goals in 255 games for Rangers.
He played a huge part as Steven Gerrard’s Gers side won the Scottish Premiership title in the 2020-21 campaign.
Morelos is not the only Rangers star out of contract at the end of this season.
Ryan Kent, Filip Helander, James Sands, and Ryan Jack are among those set to walk away from Ibrox for free in May.

Rangers are nine points adrift of rivals Celtic in the title race after 25 games.
The Old Firm foes will also face off in the Scottish League Cup final later this month (26 February).
