
Sources: Aston Villa agree £1.2m fee for Celtic starlet Aidan Borland
Celtic have accepted a £1.2million bid from Aston Villa for teenager Aidan Borland, sources have told Football Insider.
The initial fee is believed to be £300,000 that will rise to £1.2m with add-ons.
The deal is believed to be similar to that agreed for Rangers youngster Rory Wilson last summer.
15-year-old Borland is set to join the Villans on a scholar contract and will be able to sign professional terms with the midlands club when he turns 17.
The Hoops have already lost impressive academy product Ben Doak who has been impressing at Liverpool and has already featured for the first team south of the border.
Borland has been impressing at youth level domestically and internationally and has made eight appearances for Scotland’s under-16s side and has captain his nation at youth level.
The Hoops are believed to have offered the midfielder terms on his first professional contract but have now accepted a hefty fee for the talented youngster.
The Glasgow giants have a history of bringing talented youngsters through their ranks with one in three players who have started their footballing career at the Parkhead club going on to become professional footballers.
They are also producing talent on an international level with 41 of their academy products going on to represent their country.

Aston Villa have been investing in their youth set-up and their new inner-city academy is expected to be completed in August.
The £8m site overlooking Villa Park will house youngsters between the ages of five and 16 and owners Nassef Sawiris, Wes Edens and CEO Christian Purslow hope they will attract the best local talent.
