Sources: Aston Villa starlet Kaine Kelser agrees to join MK Dons

Aston Villa sensation Kaine Kesler has agreed a loan move to MK Dons, Football Insider understands.

The 19-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at Swindon Town before being recalled by Villa earlier this month.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Villa have decided MK Dons is the right team for Kesler to continue his development in the second half of the campaign.

The right-back impressed during his time at Swindon and a number of EFL clubs have made enquiries about taking him on loan this month.

However, MK Dons have won the race to the highly-rated full-back.

Kesler contributed one goal and two assists in 21 appearances for Swindon in the first half of the season.

On 9 January, Villa confirmed they had recalled the teenage defender from his spell at the County Ground.

Steven Gerrard and his staff took the decision as they believe Kesler is ready for League One football.

A product of Villa’s academy, Kesler made his debut in a 4-1 FA Cup defeat to Liverpool in January 2021.

It remains his only senior appearance for the club.

Kesler is under contract at Villa Park until the summer of 2026.

He put pen to paper on a new long-term deal last July.
