Sources: Ben Foster set to come out of retirement in surprise Wrexham move
Former Man United and Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster is set to come out of retirement and join Wrexham, sources have told Football Insider.
The 39-year-old shot-stopper called time on his career in September 2022 but has been tempted to make a return with the Welsh side.
The National League leaders lost starting goalkeeper Rob Lainton to a major injury and moved for Foster after learning that he’d spend a minimum of six weeks in the treatment room.

Foster previously spent a stint on loan at Wrexham in 2005 from parent club Stoke City before moving to Old Trafford a season later
During his one season at the club, Foster made 17 appearances for Wrexham and departed at the end of the campaign having helped the club lift the 2005 Football League Trophy.
The National League side have since been joined by celebrity owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who have brought attention and lofty ambitions to the Racecourse Ground.
Foster brings an abundance of experience to Wrexham having played 524 senior games throughout his 22-year career.
He has kept 140 clean sheets during that time, including 94 in the Premier League with Stoke, Man United, West Brom and Watford.

Foster also boasts experience on the international stage having made eight first-team caps with England having first been called up to the Three Lions squad in 2006.
Wrexham find themselves on the brink of promotion this season, with the side currently sat top of the National League two points clear of second-placed Notts County with eight games remaining in the campaign.
