
Sources: Birmingham City ready offer for ex-Arsenal star Ormonde-Ottewill
Birmingham City and MLS duo Philadelphia Union and Toronto FC are readying offers for former Arsenal defender Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill, sources have told Football Insider.
Ormonde-Ottewill is currently plying his trade in Hungary with Puskas Akademia FC and he is in the final six months of his contract with the club.
The 27-year-old has impressed for Puskas Akademia since joining the club in September 2022 and his performances have brought him onto the radar of several clubs.
Birmingham City are ready to offer the left-back a return to the UK, while Philadelphia Union and Toronto FC are keen to lure the former England youth international to Major League Soccer.
Ormonde-Ottewill came through the ranks at Arsenal and captained the Under-18 side before being released in 2015.
He notched two goals and three assists in 32 appearances for the Gunners’ Under-21 side before leaving for Swindon Town.
The defender enjoyed a successful two-year spell at the County Ground, notching two goals and two assists in 56 games before leaving for Europe.
Ormonde-Ottewill, who is a left-footed left-back, played at Dutch second-division sides Dordrecht and Excelsior before moving to Hungary in 2022.
He has made 13 appearances across all competitions for Puskas Akademia this term, his second season at the club.
Birmingham City, who are managed by Wayne Rooney, sit 15th in the table following their 0-0 draw against Rotherham last time out.
