Sources: Blackpool respond after MK Dons submit second Robson bid

MK Dons have had two permanent bids rejected for on-loan Blackpool midfielder Ethan Robson, Football Insider understands.

The 25-year-old has excelled during his loan move to MK Dons this season and they are keen to sign him permanently.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Blackpool have so far knocked back two offers from the League One club and decided to recall him to Bloomfield Road.

The Sunderland academy product had headed to MK Dons last August on a season-long loan.

The midfielder scored once and provided one assist in 23 games across all competitions for the Dons.

As quoted by Lancs Live last month (24 December), Neil Critchley revealed Robson’s long-term future is still up in the air.

Robson is out of contract at Bloomfield Road in the summer although the club do have an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

He was allowed to leave on loan last summer because of a lack of playing time.

After a strong start to the 2020-21 campaign, Robson managed just two League One starts in 2021 as Blackpool were promoted via the play-offs.

Critchley’s side are now mid-table in the second tier and nine points outside the top six.

Robson has been a key player at MK Dons this term as they look to also earn promotion to the Championship.

Liam Manning’s side currently sit in fifth, three points clear of those outside the play-off positions and five points behind the top two.

In other news, Blackpool have set their sights on signing Forest Green ace Ebou Adams.
