Sources: Bolton Wanderers, Oxford United and Wycombe Wanderers in race to sign Luton Town star Joe Taylor
Bolton Wanderers, Oxford United, Lincoln City and Wycombe Wanderers are among a host of League One clubs interested in signing Luton Town striker Joe Taylor on loan this month, sources have told Football Insider.
Taylor, 21, is currently on loan at League Two Colchester and he has been a revelation for the Essex side, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists in a struggling fourth-tier side.
Luton are set to recall Taylor from his loan at Colchester and send him to a League One club so he can test himself at a higher level.
The Hatters have already fielded several enquiries for the Wales Under-21 international.
Bolton, Oxford, Lincoln and Wycombe are among as many as half the clubs in League One to make loan enquiries to Luton for Taylor.
The hitman is set to return to Kenilworth Road after netting four goals in his last seven games across the busy festive period.
Colchester recently sacked manager Matthew Etherington with the U’s sitting just one place and five points above the relegation zone.
Taylor spent the first half of the 2022-23 campaign at League One Peterborough and featured 15 times across all competitions.
However, he started just two League Cup ties and scored just once during his one-year spell with the Posh – which saw him play just 19 times in total.

The Peterborough-born ace joined Luton 12 months ago and played six times for the Hatters to help them gain promotion to the Premier League.
Bolton and Oxford are firmly in the hunt for automatic promotion this season, while Lincoln and Wycombe are mid-table at the halfway point of the 2023-24 campaign.
