Sources: Bournemouth in advanced talks to sign Crystal Palace target Dango Ouattara

Bournemouth are in advanced talks to sign Lorient winger Dango Ouattara, sources have told Football Insider.

Cherries director of football Richard Hughes is believed to have held talks with Lorient officials in France on Wednesday and is confident of winning the race for Ouattara’s signature.

The 20-year-old has also been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace this month.

After holding initial talks for Outtara, Hughes watched the attacker in action as Lorient drew to Monaco – Ouattara started on the right wing and scored an equaliser for the hosts with 15 minutes remaining.

The Burkina Faso-born forward started his professional career at a Burkinabe football club named Majestic FC, where he scored five times in 11 games.

His performances in his homeland clearly caught the eye of Lorient, who quickly snapped him up for their reserve team in 2020.

Just a year later, he signed his first professional contract with Lorient and has since gone on to score six times in over 40 appearances for the Ligue Un side.

Gary O’Neil has found success on the south coast so far through a strike partnership of Keiffer Moore and Dominic Solanke, but the Cherries will want more depth and firepower as they look to steer clear of relegation this season.

Bournemouth sit just one point above the drop zone in 16th and have struggled for goals with just 18 in their 18 Premier League appearances this season.
