Sources: Bradford City set to make manager approach for Adams
Bradford City are readying an approach for Morecambe boss Derek Adams, Football Insider can reveal.
The League Two club are in the market for a new manager after sacking Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars.
A source has told Football Insider Adams is a top target for Bradford and they are set to ask for permission to talk to him.
Bradford City want to make a swift manager appointment after ending the season 15th in League Two.
Trueman and Sellars were relieved of their duties on Monday after the Bantams went on a winless run of seven games.
The young duo were placed in interim charge in December and they lost just one game in their first 15 in charge.
However, their reign came to an end against Morecambe at the weekend as the Shrimps ran out 2-1 winners.
They were previously in charge of the club’s Under-18s side and have been offered the opportunity to remain at Valley Parade in a different role.
Morecambe missed out on automatic promotion to Bolton Wanderers by a single point and are now preparing for the League Two play-offs.
They will face Tranmere in the semi-finals who have recently parted company with boss Keith Hill just days before the clash.
Adams has been in charge of Morecambe since November 2019 and has won promotion out of League Two as Plymouth Argyle boss earlier in his career.
In other news, the 47-year-old frontrunner has made a “huge play” for the Spurs job and he’s ready to quit a plum post.
