Sources: Brentford star Goode in line for Championship loan move
Brentford defender Charlie Goode is expected to join a Championship club on loan before the window shuts, Football Insider understands.
The 26-year-old has made eight appearances in all competitions for Brentford this season but has not figured since the win over Watford last month.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Brentford have told Goode he can go out on loan ahead of next Monday’s cut-off.
His availability has alerted a number of Championship clubs as they battle to strike an agreement.
Goode made his Premier League debut for the Bees in their 2-1 defeat against Norwich in November.
The Watford-born defender has made just four top-flight starts for Thomas Frank’s side this term.
Pontus Jansson, Kristoffer Ajer, Ethan Pinnock, and Zanka are all ahead of the Englishman in the pecking order.
Goode came through the ranks at Harefield United before enjoying spells at Hadley, AFC Hayes, and Hendon.
He earned a move to Scunthorpe in 2015 before departing to Northampton on an initial loan after four seasons at Glanford Park.
After making the move permanent in 2019, Goode was voted the Cobblers’ Supporters’ Player of the Year.
He was also named in the League Two PFA Team of the Year for the 2019-20 season.
The defender departed for Brentford in the summer of 2020.
He earned Northampton a reported club-record fee worth in excess of £1million.
The 26-year-old made 12 appearances in all competitions last term as the Bees were promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs.

Goode is under contract until 2024 at the Brentford Community Stadium.
However, the west London club hold the option to extend his stay by a further year.
