
Sources: Bristol City plotting to sign ex-Rangers star Ross McCrorie
Bristol City are among a number of clubs plotting a move for Aberdeen star Ross McCrorie, sources have told Football Insider.
The versatile ex-Rangers star, 25, has impressed in Scotland this season and his performances have brought him onto the radar of several clubs in England.
Bristol City are keen to bolster their squad this summer and McCrorie is someone they have been keeping a close eye on.
The Championship club feel the Scot, who left Rangers in 2021, could strengthen their options for next season.
McCrorie is equally adept at playing in central defence or in central midfield, and his versatility makes him an attractive proposition.
The Dailly-born ace has made 37 appearances across all competition for Aberdeen this term, notching five goals and one assist.
He is under contract at Pittodrie until June 2026 after penning a long-term extension last February (2022).
McCrorie has worn the captain’s armband for the Dons on a number of occasions during the 2022-23 campaign.
The 25-year-old was called up by Scotland in 2020 but is yet to feature in a senior game for his country.
He spent a season on loan at Portsmouth in the 2019-20 season.
High-flying Aberdeen sit third in the Scottish Premiership and are well-placed to feature in next season’s Europa Conference League.
