Sources: Burnley agree £7m Orsic fee with Dinamo Zagreb

Burnley have had a £7m bid for Croatia forward Mislav Orsic accepted by Dinamo Zagreb, Football Insider understands.

The 29-year-old has been targeted by the Clarets as they look to strengthen their attack following the £25million sale of Chris Wood.

A Burnley source has told Football Insider that they have agreed a £7m fee with Dinamo for Orsic.

He is now able to discuss personal terms with the club as the prospect of a late-window transfer edges closer.

The Croatia international is currently under contract with Dinamo Zagreb until the summer of 2025.

He has scored nine times in 31 games across all competitions this season.

Orsic hit the headlines on these shores last season when he fired in a hat-trick as Dinamo Zagreb beat Tottenham in the Europa League last 16.

The versatile forward also scored the only goal as Dinamo Zagreb beat West Ham in the same competition at the London Stadium earlier this season.

He also scored and provided an assist in Croatia’s round of 16 game with Spain at last summer’s (2021) European Championship but did not feature against Egland at the group stage.

Burnley are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements this month as they look to secure their Premier League status.

Maxwel Cornet is the club’s top scorer with six Premier League goals and should return to the side after the winter break.

In other news, an ex-Premier League referee has revealed a Burnley ace should get an extended ban as a controversy is missed by BBC cameras.
