Sources: Celtic pulling out all the stops to keep three big names

Celtic are working hard to keep Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada and Jota at the club beyond the summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Ange Postecoglou has emphasised the importance of keeping the star trio at Celtic Park if the Scottish giants are to maintain their dominance in the Premiership.

All three players joined the Glasgow club in 2021 during Postecoglou’s first transfer window and they have since become crucial members of the side’s starting lineup.

Celtic are expecting all three players to attract plenty of transfer interest this summer, but the club are preparing to adopt a firm stance and insist they are not for sale.

Kyogo has been in great form this season and tops the Premiership scoring charts with 20 goals in 26 league games.

The Japanese international signed a four-year deal after joining for £4.5million, and Postecoglou values him as a key player in his dressing room.

Celtic spent big on Jota in the summer, and the former Benfica star has a long-term five-year contract at the club after joining permanently for £6.4million.

The Portuguese winger has scored 10 and assisted nine in 34 appearances this season.

Abada has scored 12 in 40 matches for Celtic this season, but recently hit out at his lack of starts at the club with a cryptic message claiming there are reasons behind his appearances on the bench.

Despite his frustration over game time, the Israeli winger remains a big part of Postecoglou’s long-term project at Celtic.
