Sources: Chelsea in talks over £60m deal – first of its kind in the Premier League

Chelsea are in talks with Nike’s Jordan brand over a long-term kit manufacturer deal, sources have told Football Insider.

The Blues are deep into negotiations with the US brand over a staggering £60million-per-season deal.

It is understood that Jordan laid out plans to partner with a Premier League club located in London as they look to expand further into the sports market.

Chelsea were first in line for the sponsorship deal with owners Clearlake Capital sharing strong ties with the American brand.

The value is still under negotiation amid worries that it could struggle to pass the Premier League’s fair market value assessment.

Top-flight teams voted last week to introduce new, tougher sanctions for clubs found to have signed inflated sponsorship deals with related parties.

Manchester United lead the way in terms of manufacturer deals with their Adidas agreement worth a world-record £900million over the span of 10 years.

Jordan currently manufactures kits for French giants Paris Saint-Germain, but Chelsea would be the first Premier League club to strike a deal with the popular brand.

It would provide a huge boost to Chelsea’s revenue generation after the Blues announced losses of £90million in their latest 2022-23 accounts.

Chelsea are also set to strike a new front-of-shirt sponsorship agreement for the 2024-25 season with their Infinite Athlete deal set to expire this summer.
