Sources: Chelsea ready to sign striker as Christopher Nkunku to complete transfer

Chelsea are definitely expected to sign another forward this summer with Christopher Nkunku set to leave the club, sources have told Football Insider.

Nkunku has been linked with Man United in recent days and the Blues are ready to facilitate his exit in a move which would free up space for a new out-and-out striker.

The France international has not been trusted to lead the line under Enzo Maresca, while Cole Palmer’s emergence has frozen the ex-RB Leipzig star out of an attacking midfield role.

It is believed Chelsea are ready to push ahead with the pursuit of another striker despite already adding Liam Delap to their squad this summer.

Kolo Muani on the radar at Chelsea

Randal Kolo Muani, currently on loan at Juventus but still under contract at Paris Saint-Germain, has emerged as a concrete target for the Stamford Bridge club.

The France international, 26, has hit 10 goals in 21 games for the Italian club since joining in January.

Sources say any new striker signing would not spell the end of Nicolas Jackson‘s time at Chelsea – despite his disappointing recent disciplinary record.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (24 June) that Jackson remains a key man in Chelsea’s plans and is still well-liked by Maresca.

Goals were a problem for the Blues even as they finished fourth in the Premier League table and secured a return to the Champions League for the 2025-26 campaign.

Palmer (15) and Jackson (10) were the only two players to rack up double-digit returns in the English top flight last term.
