Sources: Chelsea submit £40m bid for Anthony Gordon
Chelsea have tabled a £40million bid for Everton attacker Anthony Gordon, sources have told Football Insider.
Blues manager Thomas Tuchel wants to add the 21-year-old to his squad before the transfer window closes.
The bid is set to test Everton’s resolve even though the club have already lost Richarlison to Tottenham and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to injury this summer.

The Toffees knocked back a £35million offer from Newcastle United for Gordon last month.
The Magpies remain interested in signing the England under-21 international and are lining up a new bid.
However, Chelsea now lead the race to sign the winger.
Gordon has three years remaining on the five-year deal he signed at Goodison Park in September 2020.
He has started both of Everton’s Premier League fixtures this season and spearheaded Frank Lampard’s attack in a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa on Saturday.
In the 2021-22 campaign, Gordon contributed four goals and two assists in 35 Premier League appearances.
Gordon made his debut for Everton in December 2017 as a substitute against Apollon Limassol in the Europa League.
Chelsea have been highly active in the transfer market under new owner Todd Boehly.

Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina have all arrived to Stamford Bridge on permanent deals in this window.
Gordon’s capture would see the London club’s spending surpass the £200million mark this summer.
In other news, a source has revealed that Everton have set their sights on signing a La Liga star amid a £27million release clause reveal.
