Sources: Chelsea want Moises Caicedo ‘in the building’ – new talks today to secure £80m breakthrough

Chelsea are now pushing hard to complete the signing of Moises Caicedo, sources have told Football Insider.

The London giants are in negotiations over a deal worth around £80million and are very keen to make a breakthrough this week.

Mauricio Pochettino wants Caicedo “in the building”, sources say, before the start of pre-season training.

Talks will continue today as Chelsea look to secure an agreement with Brighton.

Caicedo is keen to make the move to Chelsea and has already agreed personal terms with the club.

Last week (22 June), Football Insider revealed that an official bid from the Blues is on the way as they look to sell multiple senior stars to make room for incomings.

The Stamford Bridge club have already sold Mateo Kovacic to Premier League rivals Man City for a reported initial fee of £25m.

Fellow London club Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the Caicedo but have pulled back from the race as they focus on Declan Rice and Romeo Lavia.

Mikel Arteta’s side attempted to sign Caicedo towards to end of the January window but had a £70m offer rejected by Brighton.

Despite making clear his desire to leave the AMEX in the winter, Roberto De Zerbi’s side managed to keep hold of the midfielder.
