Sources: Chelsea willing to listen to offers for Ruben Loftus-Cheek as five Premier League clubs chase him

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is being tracked by clubs at home and abroad ahead of a potential Chelsea exit this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that as many as five Premier League sides hold a strong interest in the 27-year-old, while Serie A giants AC Milan and Roma are also keeping tabs.

Loftus-Cheek will enter the final 12 months of his Chelsea contract this summer after signing his last extension in 2019.

The Stamford Bridge club hold the option to extend his deal another year – but sources have told Football Insider that they are open to selling him.

That is despite his recent return to the starting lineup under manager Graham Potter.

Loftus-Cheek has started four of Chelsea’s last five Premier League games after missing seven straight matches following the mid-season World Cup break.

He has made 26 appearances across all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign – playing both in central midfield and in a wing-back role.

The 10-cap England ace has failed to hold down a regular starting role since his league debut in 2015.

He was loaned out to London clubs Fulham and Crystal Palace in two separate seasons in order to play regular first-team football.

Loftus-Cheek, 27, has managed 150 Premier League games in his nine-year senior career so far.

The midfielder is one of a select few Chelsea academy products to make the grade at the club – with Billy Gilmour, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori among those sold for big-money fees in recent years.

The Blues spent a reported £534.5million on new arrivals across both windows in the 2022-23 campaign.

They are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next term after a below-par season.
