Sources: Clarke pulls plug on Tottenham exit after talks with three clubs

Jack Clarke has pulled the plug on quitting Tottenham in this window after a late U-turn, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

This site revealed on 11th August that the 20-year-old had been made available for another loan move by the Premier League club.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that Clarke has held talks with three teams over a potential temporary move.

But he has now changed his mind over leaving and is set to remain in north London for the first half of the campaign.

Clarke will continue with Spurs’ Under-23s and will likely be selected by Nuno Espirito Santo for cup competitions.

Nuno had wanted the winger to leave Tottenham on a temporary basis to get regular first team football.

A £13million signing from Leeds United in July 2019, Clarke has had three loan spells during his two years at Spurs.

An un successful return to Elland Road was followed by moves to QPR and Stoke City, where he spent the second half of last season.

The six-times England Under-20 international featured 14 times for the Potters and provided two assists.

He has two years remaining on the four-year deal he signed upon his arrival at Tottenham.

It is unclear whether club chiefs will award him a new deal with many players ahead of him in the pecking order.

Clarke has featured once for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season.

He was a late substitute in the 1-0 loss to Pacos Ferreira earlier this month.
